The Pronto legend
An overview of our legacy products
The legendary Philips Pronto universal touch screen remote control was born in 1998. At that time it was a unique product that filled the gap of fair-priced customizable touch screen remotes and it was an instant hit. With its 3.5" monochrome LCD, beautiful design and straightforward PC-editor tool it became the defaut choice of many installers. The first model, the TS1000 was introduced in the USA and did not have a universal database. This was added later in the TSU2000 which was also available in Europe under the model RU890.

In 2001 the ProntoPro TSU6000 (RU970) was introduced with a passive color screen and RF.
To also address the needs for a smaller remote, the ProntoNeo TSU500 (RU930) was added to the product line in 2002. This remote had a smaller 3" touchsceen display and was the first Pronto with a cursor. The completely redesigned Next Generation series came in 2003 and 2004 on the market; the monochrome silver colored TSU3000 (RU950) with a 3.8" LCD and the black TSU7000 (RU980) with a 3.8" TFT color screen.

iPronto
Ahead of it's time was the iPronto TSi6400 (RU1000). Introduced in 2003 it was a first-of-a-kind WiFi enabled control panel with a 6.4" color VGA display and integrated web-browser! The remote control and internet browser applications were augmented with an Electronic Program Guide (EPG). This free EPG-service was ended early 2010. In a later version the MMC-slot was activated.
