Landhuis Wijs

April 2009

Censys_TSU9400_KaleidescapeIn an incredibly hotly-debated category, the deserving winner for Best Integrated Home over £250,000 at the CEDIA 2009 awards was Censys Residential Control from the Netherlands.

The Landhuis Wijs project impressed the judges with its user-friendly, easy to maintain, secure and practical system.

Designed for a client who was building his dream home, the system is notable for its sheer scale and complexity. The 30 room property boasts no fewer that 22 touchpanels, 75 keypads, 224 zones of lighting, a 10 zone video distribution system and a 16 source, 24 zone multi-room audio system. The security system is equally comprehensive, boasting a total of 11 integration groups, 215 contacts, 23 electrical door locks and 4 intercom units. 13 cameras monitor outside area whilst inside the system extends to the operation of the swimming pools and spa facilities. The spa boasts Vidikron plasmas, covered and mounted in such a way as to minimise the impact of the humid surroundings. The home cinema boasts 7.1 surround sound and Kaleidescape and control is provided by Crestron and Philips Pronto.

Even the fountain is automated, with its own pre-programmed display - this is certainly one property that makes a splash in every way!
